Ramblings'

On December 9th I officially finished my Christmas shopping!! :)  Over half of it was done online, so I rarely left the house or had to conquere the mall.

In less a month I will be at the "Happiest Place on Earth!" We don't plan to spend a lot of time or money in the parks...but will still have fun with my parents, sister and the Codieys.

This weekend is the church Christmas Program and I can't wait!!  I'm really looking forward to our special guest "Cracker Jack."

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

This year I'm looking at "being green" (as in saving $) and not sending out as many Christmas cards - I know Bah Humbug!  Most people have access to the web & if they have facebook they definitely know what we're doing at any given day! :)

Hubby is working part-time nights & weekends for a local school district.  He helps during the day at church in various ministries; he's even filled in as the "church secretary" a couple of times.  In January there's a potential for him to work part-time keeping the books for my Dad's company.  If only he could get another part-time job...they could equal up to full-time. :)  He has perfected his skills in cleaning the house to my standards - it's awesome!!

I continue to love working with the kids at church.  We recently had a Halloween Outreach with nearly 100 visiting kids.  Everyone did a great job of inviting their friends for a night of fun, costumes, games & candy.  This spring I led communion one Sunday and really conquered a fear of presenting the Gospel to a crowd.

In September we celebrated our 10-year anniversary by taking a quick trip to WI to stay in a bed-and-breakfast.  When we're not working we love playing games with friends, watching movies, tv...and yelling at our obnoxious cat M&M - his brothers Snickers & Reeses are much better behaved.  We spent a week in Omaha, NE this summer celebrating the life of hubby's grandma - who lived 94 great years on this earth.  We spent two weeks in Alexandria helping with kid’s camp in June and loved it.  It’s the highlight of our year!

We hope that you take time to reflect on the great gift Jesus this season as you spent time with family & friends.

God Bless!

Itchin' to Create

My mind has been spinning with possibilities and aspirations - wanting to...no, needing to create & be creative.  I love Christmas, I love making gifts for people.  I have just as much fun making things, as I do seeing the peoples faces when I give them their gifts.  Unfortunately I can't post many things & share with everyone what I've done, in case one of those special people sees it first.

I've had a blast sanding, painting, cutting vinyl with my moms Cricut, mod-podging and gathering supplies!  I've spent countless hours studying others blogs for ideas.

I live in the world of "good enough" - I'm far from a perfectionist until someone's coming to my house...and then I clean & organize so it looks good (don't open a cupboard or a drawer).  I spend little time making things perfect...I just like to do it.  It's probably because I'm impatient...but I also get a lot accomplished.

Speaking of accomplishments...I only have 1 gift left to purchase and I'm done Christmas shopping!  Woo Hoo! :)
